‘Elemental reflects the core of my subject matter: embracing the dynamic forces of nature. I aim to capture its vitality and form, not just as an observational painter, but being within it. Sometimes a cloud can present itself and echo the form of a cliff, or a fleeting shaft of light can illuminate a drawing. These unique happenings experienced through my painting process manifest themselves into my work, but it is the intuitive decision making and moment of resolution that is the surprise.’
